Anthony’s most recent paintings, Atlantic Rhythm and Blues and Shades of Green have been accepted into the 30th Annual International Marine Art Exhibition at Mystic Seaport’s Maritime Art Gallery. Northport’s 3rd Annual Plein Air Painting Event

Once again the region’s most accomplished plein air painters will gather in Northport, Long Island for Northport’s 3rd Annual Plein Air Painting Event. On Friday and Saturday, June 26th and 27th, selected artists will be set up in locations throughout the village painting their interpretations of the scenery that is so unique to Northport. On both days spectators can observe the creative process from start to finish and talk with the artists as they work. Sunday, June 28th, will feature an exhibition and silent auction for the “wet” paintings at LaMantia Gallery between 11am and 3pm.
Anthony will be participating in this year’s Annual Gallery North/Joseph Reboli Wet Paint Festival. Painting will take place on Friday and Saturday July 10th and 11th with an exhibition and silent auction to occur at the gallery on Sunday, July 12th. Anthony will be teaching a 2 day Seascape Workshop at Gallery North this coming summer. The class is scheduled for August 29th and 30th at the Gallery’s newly renovated art center (on the grounds of the gallery). Anthony’s painting November Wind was selected for the American Society of Marine Artist’s 14th National Exhibition. The exhibition will travel to 5 different states over the course of 16 months, opening in Wilmington, Delaware on May 16th at the Chase Riverfront Center for the Arts. From July to September the show will be on display at The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in Oxford, Maryland and in October, The 14th National travels to The Noyes Museum in southern New Jersey for 4 months. March through May of 2009 will find the show at The Spartanburg Museum of Art in South Carolina and the exhibition makes its final stop in Massachusetts at The New Bedford Museum of Art in New Bedford from June through September 2009. A beautiful full color catalog of the show will be available and can be purchased, in the near future, through the American Society of Marine Artists website www.americansocietyofmarineartists.com
